On the official website of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (FHR), its decision to appoint Alexei Zhamnov as Chief Trainer to the Russian National Team was announced.
On 27 February, the candidacy of the head coach was agreed by an expert committee of leading hockey representatives. This conference was attended by Vladislav Tretyak, website Boris Mikhailov, web site Valery Kamensky, Alexey Zhamnov and Pavel Bure.
As consults with the team’s headquarters, Oleg Znarok and Valery Bragin will join.
